Special Eye Tests
Digital Fundus Photography
A picture is taken of the back of the eye which instantly appears in the computer next to the doctor. Your arteries, veins, optic nerve and other areas of the retina can then be checked. This test can detect tumors of the eye, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, hypertensive retinopathy -just to name a few. No drops are generally needed for the test. It is completely painless, take only a few seconds and is a very valuable test for your eyes.
Visual fields
Our office has one of the most advanced visual field equipment available today, the Humphrey 745i. This equipment will not only detect visual field loss but has the advanced Blue-Yellow SWAP software that has shown to predict glaucoma visual loss 3-5 years earlier that conventional tests.
Pachymetry
The test measures the thickness of the cornea, the ticker the cornea the more protection you have against developing glaucoma.
