Lenses & Coatings

Plastic
Most commonly used material for lenses, tint, scratch guard and ultra violet protection can be added to lenses. Least expensive material.

Polycarbonate
Greater impact resistance than plastic. Approximately 20% lighter and thinner than plastic lenses.

Ultralite Style
Approximately 50% thinner and lighter than regular plastic lenses. Greater impact resistance than plastic lenses.

Progressive
Invisible bifocal lenses that allow a person to see at 3 distanced, distance, near and intermediate.

Anti-reflective coating
Helps to eliminate glare. Especially useful for night driving and when driving in the rain.

Polaroid Lenses
An excellent sunglass lens that helps to eliminate much of the sun's glare.

UV Coating
A clear, ultraviolet coating that is applied to the lens that protects the eyes from the sun's harmful UV rays. Very important for the health of one's eyes.

Scratch Guard Coating
A coating placed on plastic lenses which makes them 20x more resistant to scratches.

Transition Lenses
Lenses that automatically get darker when a person goes outside. It darkens to approximately 60% - not like dark sunglasses. They hardly change at all in a car since the material in the windshield inhibits the lenses from changing.
